Chieftain Academy - High School

Welcome to Chieftain Academy at Logan High School

Chieftain Academy at Logan High School is your district's blended learning format for high school students.

  • Please have your own folders, pencils/pens for use.

We also ask that you have your own headphones and provide a box of tissues to the community stash. :)

  • Ohio House Bill 110 requires us to establish a blended learning model that has students in attendance IN PERSON for 51% of their instructional time.

Chieftain Academy Blended Learning Program seeks to provide a different learning environment than the traditional high school setting while providing a rigorous academic setting, support for students, and flexibility for students who are not finding success in the traditional classroom environment for any reason.

    • All students are required to attend in person 51% of the week.
      • Monday: Juniors and Seniors
      • Tuesday: Juniors and Seniors
      • Wednesday: Freshman and Sophomores
      • Thursday: Freshman and Sophomores
      • Friday: Intervention schedule by appointment only
    • Students will attend the entire school day on their assigned days.
    • Arrival at the Chieftain Center no later than 7:42 AM
    • Dismissal from the Chieftain Center no earlier than 2:35 pm
    • Students have the option to use Logan-Hocking Schools Busing or their own transportation.
    • Students using their own transportation (driving their own car) are REQUIRED to buy a parking lot pass from the main office in the high school.
    • Students may bring a sack lunch or will be given the option to have a lunch period.
    • Students will be required to complete assigned work on attendance in- person attendance days. On their not-in-person days, they will be required to log in and complete at least one graded assignment for attendance credit.
    • All families and students will be required to attend an orientation and sign an attendance contract. Not following the attendance rules will result in dismissal from the program.
  • Classes will be delivered in nine week sections. For our students who participate in athletics and co curricular activities this covers their credit requirements. In addition this allows us to enter nine weeks grades for our students to be recognized on HONOR ROLL.

Teachers will create google classrooms and post a pacing guide for students at the beginning of each nine weeks. There will be specific assignments covered during in-person learning days.
